Grand Theft is a charge reserved for an individual who knowingly or intentionally exerts unauthorized control over property of another person, with the intent to deprive the other person of any part of its value or use.

Level 6 Felony if the value of the property is at least $750 but less than $50,000.

Sentence: 30 minutes

Fine: $5,000

Level 5 Felony if the value of the property exceeds $50,000 AND/OR is a firearm

Sentence: 40 minutes

Fine: $7,500
