SA (1)04 Battery
Battery is a charge that is reserved for individuals who use intentional and unlawful force to cause bodily harm to another person.
A person can be charged with Battery if:
The individual causes bodily harm by unlawful force.
Unlawful force is determined by unprovoked physical contact.
Unprovoked physical contact is defined by contact made not in self defense. I.E the first punch, kick, or other means.
Class A Misdemeanor
Sentence: 20 minutes
Fine: $5,000
Level 5 Felony if committed against a Public Safety Official.
Sentence: 40 minutes
Fine: $7,500
