Voluntary Manslaughter is a charge that is reserved for individuals who kill another person with no prior intent to harm or kill, but under a sudden circumstance that made them mentally or emotionally distraught.
Person can be charged with Voluntary Manslaughter if:
The individual kills a person without prior intent to harm or kill
This is also referred to as “Heat of Passion”.
Examples:
Finding a s/o in an affair, and causes the person to kill the victim out of anger.
