SA (1)11 Kidnapping

Kidnapping is a charge that is reserved for individuals who intentionally remove another person from one place to another

Level 6 Felony if the individual knowingly and intentionally removes another person, by means of fraud, enticement, force, or threat of force from one place to another without causing bodily injury and without the use of a vehicle.

Sentence: 30 minutes

Fine: $5,000

Level 5 Felony if a vehicle is used in the commission of the crime, AND/OR the suspect causes bodily harm to a person other than the person being kidnapped.

Sentence: 40 minutes

Fine: $7,500

Level 4 Felony if the individual causes moderate bodily harm to a person other than the person being kidnapped.

Sentence: 60 minutes

Fine: $10,000

Level 3 Felony if a deadly weapon is used in the commission of the crime AND/OR the individual causes severe bodily harm to a person other than the person being kidnapped AND/OR the crime is committed on an aircraft.

Sentence: 120 minutes

Fine: $15,000

Level 2 Felony if the individual has an intent to obtain ransom AND/OR has the intent to use the kidnapped to obtain OR aid the release/escape of any person from lawful incarcaeration AND/OR has the intent to use the victim as shield or hostage.

Sentence: 180 minutes

Fine: $20,000
